Right before winter sets in you will notice that the foliage will change once again and become a elegant ruby red. 4' H x 1.5' W at maturity this cylindrical grower remains highly manageable and highly visible at all times.
- MULTIFUNCTIONAL: Orange Rocket Barberry shines as a border, slope plant, mass planting or in a container. Mix your plant with several other foundation plantings and your homes curb appeal will be taken to the next level. With unique column-like growth this Barberry stands out even more in comparison to other barberries and boxwood plants.
- LOW MAINTENANCE: This shrub needs very little pruning, at most just once each spring. If you choose to to use your Barberry as a formal hedge pruning and shaping it as needed will not damage its future growth. Upon planting moisten the soil, but once established, watering is not needed. Avoid soil that will be soggy on a consistent basis.
- USDA Zones: Once it has reached maturity your Barberry bush will be hardy in zones 5 - 9 and at that point will withstand temperatures between -20° and -15° Fahrenheit. During the winter, since this is a deciduous plant, all foliage will be lost, but fret not as it will return just as bright season after season. Choose a location in Full Sun to Part Shade for best results. At least 3 hours of direct sunlight is important for your plant to grow.
