The Churchill infantry tank, with its unique long chassis and encircling tracks, was a standout design. Named after the British defense minister of the era, it boasted robust armor. As the war advanced, it saw various versions with enhanced armor and armament. The Mk.III, tipping the scales at 39,626kg, debuted in March 1942. It sported a 6-pounder gun in its all-welded turret, and the hull-mounted howitzer from earlier models was removed. For aquatic operations, Churchill tanks could be equipped with specialized deep-wading gear. Notably, the Churchill Mk.III participated in the ill-fated Dieppe landing in France on 19 August 1942.
